·               Fast track, design-build project constructing over 40 bridges in Kennedy Interchange while maintaining traffic for motoring public

·               Primarily responsible for managing all facets of over $ 34M of structural steel budget including procurement of girders and bearing assemblies, erection cranes, collaborating with erection engineers and steel erection subcontractor

·               Evaluated conceptual bridge designs and worked with fabricators and designers to provide value engineering alternatives resulting in over $4M savings for the Walsh DBT 

·               Mentored and advised two younger engineers and interns – provided guidance on cost forecasting, writing RFI’s, quantity reporting, and management of subcontractors and material suppliers 

·               Brought onto the project early to assist in subcontractor and major scope buyout.  Negotiated and drafted contracts for structural steel fabrication, steel & precast erection, purchase of expansion joints & bridge bearings, erection crane rentals, and deck diamond grinding

         

Project Engineer – Cannelton Hydroelectric Project, Hawesville, KY    January 2011 to May 2013

·               Engineer responsible for formwork and carpentry activities for over $27M revenue of self-performed mass concrete; developing engineered field solutions for safety, formwork, and concrete-related issues for $200M hydroelectric power plant project

·               Responsible for review and approval of formwork drawings and temporary falsework, creation of work plans for superintendents and foremen, and for collaborating with field supervision and subcontractors to resolve construction conflicts and issues

·               Tracked and reported production quantities for carpentry crews and all self-peformed concrete work

·                           Led and actively participated in weekly production schedule meetings as well as subcontractor coordination meetings

·                           Managed field inventory of $2M+ formwork hardware, responsible for material procurement to meet schedule and budget requirements

·                           Authored RFI’s, worked with outside engineering consultants, and initiated field proposals to remove barriers impeding progress

·               Contributed to engineering and field operations on $33M+ Congress Parkway Bridge Rehabilitation Project

·               Managed and inspected leased equipment on-site; coordinated material & equipment deliveries; tracked and checked revenue &

in-place work from pay estimates; responsible for updating and forwarding daily work schedule to stakeholders

·               Developed detailed estimates and cost proposals for work items and change orders, processed RFI’s and submittals using CMiC;

maintained as-built and approved shop drawings for structural steel repair & replacement; obtained quotes from vendors & suppliers

·               Led and participated in weekly safety meetings and jobsite safety walks with project managers and tradespersons
